Daily Prayer: Matins, Vespers, and Compline

The Sunday Divine Service is the center of our life together, and all other services revolve around it, like the planets revolve around the sun. The church’s daily prayers are carried out in prayer services that may be held every day, if possible. These services depend on the time of the day, and largely focus on the praying and singing of psalms and the reading of Scripture. The most common of these services are Matins (morning), Vespers (evening), and Compline (bedtime). St. John’s does not have services scheduled everyday. We do have Vespers each Wednesday evening during the seasons of Advent and Lent. Check the church calendar for other opportunities to join us for prayer.
