Catechesis a churchly term for instruction. Such catechesis encompasses the whole life of the Christian, as he continues to grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the knowledge of the Word of God.

Youth Catechesis begins at the earliest of ages as children learn the Catechism by heart. They start with the primary texts (The Ten Commandments, the Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, and our Lord’s words instituting the Sacraments) and continue with the explanatory portions (“What does this mean?”) Children are enrolled at a later age for instruction in Bible History and the Catechism. When they have publicly confessed the Christian faith, been examined and absolved, they are confirmed and admitted to the Lord’s Table.

Each Sunday, classes are held for all ages to further grow in the Christian faith. Sunday School classes for children cover Old and New Testament Bible History lessons, and the adult Bible Classes cover all sorts of portions of the Bible, topics, writings, and Church history.

Each week, a devotional guide is prepared to assist with prayer and devotions in the home during the week. This guide generally includes prayers, suggested Bible readings, psalms and hymns for the coming week. These usually have a connection to the readings from Sunday.
